Collective Body Consult™ – PhysioPod Co. Consultation Structure

The Collective Body Consult™ is our unique, innovative assessment model which combines both Physiotherapy and Podiatry in the same initial appointment. Utilizing the experience and expertise of two health professionals in the one appointment, Lauren and Luke identify the underlying cause of your pain or injury.

Benefit of seeing a Physiotherapist and Podiatrist jointly

Having two health professionals in the same appointment allows for a comprehensive assessment and accurate diagnosis. Physiotherapists and Podiatrists frequently refer to each other for a range of cases. Having both within your first appointment allows us to discover which treatment plan is most appropriate from the start.

Foot and ankle mechanics play a very large role in the function of the rest of the body. They are the foundations for your body to contact the earth. Having a sound base of support and ensuring the foot is working as efficiently as it can will help the rest of the body function. Knee, hip/pelvic and lower back injuries have shown to be closely related to lower limb/foot biomechanics. Addressing the status of the foot and ankle in the management of these injuries is imperative to obtaining an accurate diagnosis. Likewise, assessing what’s occurring to superior structures like the knee and pelvis when managing foot and ankle injuries is critical.

The Collective Body Consult™ is a holistic approach to assessment and treatment that will enable you to receive an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. The collective approach does not end after the initial consult once a treatment path with Physiotherapy or Podiatry (or jointly if required) is determined. We continue to discuss cases making sure that you are on the best path and make any alterations along your management journey.
